Rescue Plus – A Must Have
Joe & Vonda Stutts, Chapter AL-S
We are Associate Members of GWRRA. We recently went on a month-long trip of the Western United States covering over 6000 miles. We traveled from NW Alabama to I-40 through MS; AR; OK; TX; AZ; and we touched CA; UT; Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon in AZ. We also saw NV; ID; WY; MT to the Grand Tetons; Yellowstone National Park; ND; SD; NE; KS; MO, and then we headed home.
All went well on our ride home until we were just outside Joplin, MO. We had a piece of huge debris fly back and hit the fan, breaking two blades and puncturing our radiator. We managed to make it to an exit and found a hotel for the night. The next morning we got on the phone and made arrangements for the repair, but the nearest dealership was 200 miles away. We pulled out our Rescue Plus Cards, and located the number to call for a tow. (We purchased Rescue Plus from the Home Office of GWRRA) Let me tell you those folks are on the ball! They had a tow truck there before I could even finish packing our things. The tow company sent a flatbed big enough to haul our Trike and our trailer. We were able to ride in the tow truck with the driver. The Rescue Plus Rep called back in a very short time to make sure the truck arrived and again later to make sure we arrived at our destination safely. Before the day was done, we had our Trike repaired and were on our way home.
If you don’t have Rescue Plus, I encourage you to get it. It only took a few seconds to put us out of commission. The total for the tow was over $600! But our coverage PAID for the first 100 miles plus another fee that was tacked on, and when we got home we spoke to our other insurance company, and they picked up the difference. YAHOO for
the coverage!
This was an amazing trip, and it was so nice to know that we didn’t have to worry about repairs, tows, etc.
